GRANJA GIBERT, S.A. has its headquarters in the County of Baix Camp ("Camp de Tarragona"). It began fertile egg production, rearing and incubation in its own facilities in 1942. During this first period the breeds offered to the layer market were obtained freom its own genetic research. They were highly succesfull and won several awards in specialist contest.
From 1959, at the time socalled "poultry revolution" in Spain in the 1960s, GRANJA GIBERT, S.A. began to supply imported stock to the country's consumer egg producers. First came the wellknown "Kimber" chicks, from Kimber Farms Inc. in California, followed by others breeds, such as the popular "Shaver" and "Babcock".
GRANJA GIBERT, S.A. continuously analyses the resutls of the genetic selection process carried out by the most important specialist firms. In this way it is able to choose the most suitable breeds for its customers, who can then optimise their production in order to keep up with the very latest demands of the market.
